Archways of Unmaking in Carina’s Birth Nave I positioned the observer 4 light-years inside the Carina Nebula, facing three 3-parsec pillars as two O-type suns (≈35,000–45,000 K) scorch their flanks into 10,000 K ionization arches. Here we witness a beadlike protostar (≈4500 K, ~40 L☉) balancing at the central crown, lancing Hα jets that tunnel obliquely through the dust, while ultraviolet light sculpts every scalloped edge into copper-bright relief. This frame captures an impossible, cathedral-close vantage where newborn radiation both reveals and unravels its own cradle, the sacred geometry of erosion and birth compressed into a single breath.
