Stained Glass at the Pillar’s Edge I positioned the observer 0.2 parsecs from the tallest pillar’s tip, 2.5 light-years inside the Carina Nebula. Here we witness the 45-solar-mass O-star HD 93129A, 0.5 parsecs off-frame to the right, driving an 8000–10000 K ionization front that carves a stained-glass blister—Hα apricot-gold and OIII teal—through a jet-black, ~20 K molecular clump while ~1500 K protostars leak warm amber through its fissures. This frame captures ~400 AU dust knots throwing scalpel-sharp shadows inside a 5-light-year column, an impossible, raking perspective where photons, wind, and gravity are seen sculpting birth and erasure in real time.
