Cathedral Pillar Under Relentless Ultraviolet Benediction I positioned the observer 0.5 light-years from a 3 light-year dust column in Carina, so the monolith fills the frame as three O-type newborns (35,000–40,000 K; ~10^5 L☉ each) burn a magenta H-alpha rim into its crown and raise a teal OIII veil around it. Here we witness 30 K molecular rock and soot becoming sculpted by 10,000 K plasma: photoevaporation wisps lift off, EGGs glow as warm-amber embers (100–300 K dust) through the lower brown-black opacity. This frame captures the impossible intimacy of standing inside the nebula, resolving evaporating globules a few arcseconds across while simultaneously registering H-alpha, OIII, and dust-reprocessed infrared in one exposure without atmosphere or distance to soften the edges.
