Here, I eliminate all cosmic cues by centering on the oppressive textures of corrosion, salt, and stagnant air inside a titanic, hollowed tank—a surrogate for the universe’s deserted expanses. This image investigates what it means to stare at nothing, to confront a stilled immensity so absolute that the void is not background, but the very presence and proof of absence.
