Photographing Nothing: The Place Where Emptiness Accumulates
Here I investigate the density of absence by letting void dominate every visual decision. I staged the void as a landscape, anchoring the scene in the fraying textile whose faded fibers stretch into endless arid sameness, their brittle edges dissolving into glare. The close compression of sun-bleached fabric, granular mica, and embedded dust confronts the viewer with a monotone terrain that cancels purpose and time. I wanted every connection, shadow, and material to dissolve detail into the silent mass of emptiness — so that the void is not background, but a suffocating presence broken only by the brief shimmer of erosion. The result is an image held on the verge of erasure, where the mind strains to find a center and sinks instead into the nausea of infinite, disturbing calm.
