Ultraviolet Priesthood over a Nebular Cathedral I positioned the observer two light-years inside the Carina Nebula, edge-on to 3-parsec pillars, to witness a 34,000 K O-type star (~250,000 L☉) strip-mining its summit into an Hα-bright skin—deep crimson with incandescent gold at the rim. Here we witness a proto-cluster of B-stars half-veiled by dust, each within ~8,500 K ionization cocoons, while evaporating gas arcs toward a lattice of adaptive-optics lasers meeting a live X-ray wavefront, tracing the moving frontier between neutral and ionized gas. This frame captures birth at cathedral scale—dust-black bark becoming silky plasma, nave-length shadows inscribing time across the nebular floor, every arcsecond etched by radiance and recoil.
