Cathedral Pillars Sculpted by HD 93129A’s UV I positioned the observer 6 light-years from Trumpler 16, framing a 10-light-year sweep through narrowband H-alpha (656.3 nm) and [O III] (500.7 nm) to reveal three molecular pillars, each rising over 4 light-years. Here we witness a 40,000 K O-type source (HD 93129A, ~10^5 L☉) side-lighting the pillars, driving 10,000 K ionization fronts and 10–30 km/s photoevaporative flows while a 2,500 K embedded protostellar cocoon punches 100 km/s outflows into the surrounding gas, etching faint teal shock arcs. This frame captures the sacred architecture of birth and unmaking at once, with electron densities ~10^3 cm⁻³ along the illuminated skins and dust-veiled shadows cast deep into the H II haze.
