Cathedral Pillars Under a Wounded Sensor Sky I positioned the observer 2 light-years from Carina’s crowded nursery to encompass a 7–light-year nave: HD 93129A (≈40,000 K) scours the leftmost pillar so its 10,000 K ionization curl glows H-alpha deep rose laced with teal OIII. Here a Class I protostar (≈1200 K, ~8 L☉) leaks ochre-gold through a cracked dust shell while its outflow chisels a shock-bright canal; blue-white infant stars cast razor crepuscular ribs that carve voids into the gas. A horizontal sensor dropout scar smears the starfield and bites the right column’s silhouette—an honest fracture in an impossible, telescope-true view that lets scale, temperature, and time hum in one frame.
