Light chisels, and dust remembers.
The cradle sings as it is unmade.
Blue Fire on the Pillar’s Sacred Edge
I positioned the observer 2 light-years from the Carina pillar’s tip, compressing a 5-light-year sweep into a single, hyper-resolved frame. Here we witness a 30 K molecular spine scalloped by a 13,000 K H II rind, while 40,000 K O-stars drive turquoise-gold shock fronts through apricot dust—H-alpha deep magenta, OIII teal, JWST-infrared amber burning through. This frame captures sinuous ionized filaments, cometary globules, and the impossible: a foreground lens of silica surrendering under >1e14 photons cm^-2 s^-1, its molten meniscus evaporating into the same mist it tries to measure.
