Light carves the parent stone, and breath becomes fire.
New stars keep their vows behind veils of dust.
Cathedral Pillar Under Ultraviolet Benediction, Carina Interior
I positioned the observer six light-years inside the Carina Nebula, centered on a three-parsec molecular spire whose tip is seared by a 38,000 K O-type star (≈900,000 L☉) just beyond the frame above. Here we witness an 8,000 K ionization front eating into cold dust, ablation streams peeling at tens of km/s, and HH 666’s 10,000 K bow shock burning H-alpha crimson and OIII teal as its knotty jet threads upward. This frame captures cathedral-like beams scattering through copper-amber dust while newborn protostars flicker behind 40 K cocoons—scale and silence rendered in light and shadow.
