Cathedral Spires at the Edge of Unmaking I positioned the observer 2 light-years from the western face of Carina’s South Pillars, framing the 3–5 light-year “Mystic Mountain” as UV from Trumpler 16 (off-frame left, ~5 pc) carves ionization skins at ~10,000 K while the shadowed rock-dust interiors linger near 20 K. Here we witness EGGs with 3500 K protostars, H-alpha (deep red) and [O III] (teal) breathing from photoevaporative veils, and a temporal compression that interleaves two erosion epochs along the same rim. This frame captures UV λ<200 nm scouring the spires, JWST-like infrared warmth mapping dust in amber/rust/copper, and the sacred contradiction of creation-by-erosion, rendered from an impossible, time-stacked vantage within the cathedral itself.
