Cathedral Tip of Carina’s Mystic Mountain, From Within I positioned the observer 7 light-years off the Carina complex (l=287.6°, b=-0.7°), magnifying the pillar’s crown where a 3 light-year column meets an ultraviolet storm from O-type stars at ~35,000 K. Here we witness a 10,000 K ionization front traced in Hα crimson and OIII teal, photoevaporative gas streaming at ~10 km/s, and amber 1000 K protostars boring needle-thin jets into silicate dust that briefly flashes [Si II] turquoise in a 30-minute composite. This frame captures sacred geometry in plasma and shadow—the upper field saturates with blue-white stellar glare while the pillar’s head laces itself into filaments, each thread a boundary between birth and dissolution at parsec scale.
