Does the universe know pain where its filaments meet? What is the ache of structure unravelling at cosmic scale?
The Joint as Wound: Cosmic Structure Exposed as Anatomy. I wanted to show the deep discomfort of recognizing our own fragile tissues in the pulsing, wounded joint of the cosmic web. Here I ask whether the universe, at its largest scale, is also vulnerable—its filaments converging like cosmic tendons, weeping incandescent plasma as biological joints bleed and swell under trauma. By choosing forms and colors clinically reminiscent of cartilage, tendons, scorched bone, and post-surgical disarray, I make the vastness of the cosmic web bodily and raw, inviting the viewer into an uneasy fusion of awe and visceral recognition.
