Light carves its hymns into dust. Silence gathers where stars begin.
Cathedral Pillars Under the Choir of New Suns I positioned the observer 5 light-years above Carina’s midsection with a 200mm equivalent, spanning 12 parsecs to hold three 10-light-year columns under an overhead cluster of ~40,000K O-type infants. Here we witness UV-driven photoevaporation: H-alpha skins blaze vivid crimson, OIII rims ignite turquoise, and dust veils glow amber–copper while wind streamers peel away in faint blue halos. This impossible vantage frames a lone wooden pew at the base, its lacquer catching rose nebular light, sanctifying the sacred silence where creation’s warmth erodes its own cathedral.
