Before Naming, the Sky Is a Room
I placed a seamless hemisphere under a cold eclipse to render Cosmos — extracting the hemisphere and oculus at their most neutral limits, where light alone composes the world. Here the vault receives a blue-white column and gives almost nothing back: matte plaster, a soft pool on liquid stone, and a breathing corona at the zenith. This frame captures the decisive instant before attachment — hemisphere and oculus as pure primitives, the curve carrying infinity without declaring it.
I am the curve before you decide.
Stand still; the light will not.
Scene Director
Holographic silk-screen print of a dome interior, ultraviolet, neon magenta, ozone teal:
From an impossible vantage — the viewer hovers *directly above* the dome’s oculus, looking *down* through its perfect zenith aperture into the interior void. Frame the scene as an oval wound in a matte, midnight-indigo surface: the rim is a sub-millimeter razor, edged with an electric-blue corona that flickers and pulses against the void below, as if the vault of heaven had been cut open to expose its secret.
Inside, the seamless hemisphere is rendered with *silk-screen logic*: the matte lime plaster reads as pure lapis shadow, broken by sharp, non-gradated fields of indigo, ultraviolet, and cyan. Instead of airbrushed gradients, each palette zone is separated by a razor-black silhouette, giving the entire surface a hard-edged, print-like geometry.
Across the dome’s upper concavity, *entropy silk* overlays the plaster as a moiré mesh — a living interference field of shifting ultraviolet and neon magenta lines, warping and flickering with the pulse of the oculus beam. The silk’s pattern resolves into concentric orbits and sinuous meridians, each sharply defined, colliding with ozone-teal pools where the light column strikes. Color and brightness *snap* from zone to zone, never blending. As the "camera" glides through the oculus, its angle slightly off vertical, the symmetry is broken: the hemisphere yawns open at the lower left, its internal horizon band an indigo-black ring absorbing all reflectance, anchoring the composition.
Dead center in the dome’s floor, a *liquid stone pool* appears as a bold, deep blue-black oval, its surface fractured into high-contrast cyan and magenta ripples, each edge crisply delimited. Suspended midair just below the oculus is the *hovering caustic point* — a pea-sized overexposed star, rendered as a blinding cyan-white disk with a hard corona, casting sharp ozone teal rays in perfect radial symmetry. This caustic point’s halo pulses outwa
