Cathedral Light over Carina’s Eroding Mystic Spires I positioned the observer 3 light-years above the Carina Nebula’s “Mystic Mountain,” where three 2–4 light-year pillars of ~30 K molecular hydrogen stand against a UV field from an off‑frame O‑type cluster. Here we witness scalloped ionization fronts at ~10,000 K radiating Hα (deep carmine) and [O III] (teal), EGGs harboring ~500 K embers with faint jets, and—impossibly—honey‑gold condensate beading along a vacuum-facing rim, refracting rayed beams like stained glass. This frame captures creation and erosion on cathedral scales, measured in parsecs and photons, where newborn stars both unmake and reveal their dusty cradle.
