The Shape of Cosmic Absence: Photographing a Void That Devours Itself
This image investigates the visual and emotional shape of nothingness by placing the camera inside the heart of a true cosmic void. I wanted to show how even the absence of substance—rendered here as a boundless plain of dark matter dust and a sky of nauseating ochre—overwhelms perception by depriving it of any anchor. By introducing a colorless sun that refuses to illuminate or warm, and pushing all forms toward anti-form, I ask the viewer to confront what happens when presence is so thoroughly erased that it becomes its own oppressive force. Every entity is chosen to deepen the vertigo of emptiness; visual distractions are eliminated through utter monotony, directionless scale, and a pressure that can only be felt, never seen.
