Birthlight Carves the Cathedral of Carina I positioned the observer three light-years inside the Carina Nebula, staring up a 6-parsec-tall molecular pillar called Mystic Mountain as newborn O-type stars (T≈40,000 K, L>3×10^5 L☉ each) ionize its scalloped edges. Here we witness Hα (deep crimson) and [O III] (teal) filaments at ~10,000 K racing along the windward rim while the 30 K dust-and-gas core sheds photoevaporative streamers into the bronze-lit haze. This frame captures cometary globules with embedded protostars, a needle-bright Herbig–Haro jet, and bow shocks stacking like glass crescents—the impossible serenity of standing inside the workshop where light unmakes its maker.
