How large is a cradle that outgrows its child?
Where does silence go when it is made of light?
Cathedral of Ionization: Carina’s Singing Stone and Fire.
The viewer sees emission-buttresses scoured by white X-ray seams, a swollen paradox star bleeding magenta plumes, proplyd lacquer peeling into cyan streamers, lensing-arc tracery like frozen pool-caustics, and a black photon ring splitting as bead-bright filaments thread it, and feels awe. I wanted to show how newborn light sculpts its own cathedral: the Thorne-Żytkow heart as altar-furnace, the ionization front as reredos, and the neutrino choir as a silent hymn that carves form from gas, so that sacred silence meets the warmth of creation at a boundary the mind can sense but not contain.
