The Violence of All Scales Colliding at Dawn’s Edge. I wanted to make visible the cognitive concussion that occurs when every scale—quantum, molecular, biological, geological, cosmic—erupts within a single field of vision. The ice skin, rusted bolt, nematode, thumbprint, and lensed galaxies all defy proper boundaries, their materials and transformations physically precise yet intruding, violating each other's order. Here I ask: what violence is done to meaning, to identity, when the mind is forced to occupy every conceivable dimension at once, each region ceaselessly fracturing and rewriting the others under glacial, pitiless light?
