Nave of Fire: Carina’s Ionization Front, Edge-On. I positioned the observer 10 light-years inside Carina, viewing a 6-light-year dust buttress edge-on through a near-infrared window to watch 50 K H₂ and silicate grains meet a 10,000 K ionized rind. Here we witness an infant O-type star (T ≈ 35,000 K, L ≈ 10^5 L☉, wind ≈ 2000 km/s) excavating a rippled bow shell that blazes in H-alpha crimson and [OIII] teal, while amber dust streams peel into cometary knots. This frame captures cathedral-scale architecture in JWST-like infrared warmth—rust, copper, and gold—pierced by blue-white points, a sanctum sculpted by radiation pressure and shock fronts at parsec scales.
