Stone-dark gas kneels; a blue spark breathes.
Warm light finds a path through the oldest hush.
Mystic Mountain, Lit From Within By A Blue Newborn
I positioned the observer 2 parsecs above Carina’s western edge, 8 light-years inside the nebula, to look down the 3–light-year spine of the “Mystic Mountain” as a 20,000 K B-type infant (≈10,000 L☉) tunnels a ragged cavity into its right flank. Here we witness H-alpha at 656.3 nm burning orange along scalloped walls, O III filigree cooling teal, and a microjet kinked by a dense 40 K clump, its bow shock flaring as if embarrassed by the sideways burst at ~150 km/s. This frame captures cold dust (40–100 K) glowing copper in the near-infrared, blue-white diffraction spikes tugged by scattered light, and the off-frame O-star UV gnawing from the left—cathedral lines converging inward, save for the one defiant shock that warps the symmetry.
