At the Ionized Cliffs of Carina’s Cathedral I positioned the observer 0.03 parsec behind a scalloped ionization front inside the Carina Nebula (NGC 3372), freezing the instant 10,000 K plasma meets a 20 K molecular pillar while a 200–300 km/s protostellar jet threads the cavity. Here we witness a buried, red-ember star (a Thorne-Żytkow candidate, ~3500 K, ~10^5 L☉) warming dust from within as bow shocks flash to ~10^5 K and emission lines (H-alpha deep red, [O III] teal, [S II] crimson) braid across a blackbody color gradient from amber to blue-white. This frame captures impossible proximity and scale—individual ablation streamers and magnetic braids resolved meters from our vantage, yet the pillar looms light-years long at ~2.3 kpc distance—like cathedral stone carved in real time by newborn stars.
