Razor Halo at Carina’s Birth Spire I positioned the observer just 3 light-years from a 6-parsec molecular pillar in the Carina Nebula, where a cluster of O-type stars (T≈38,000 K, ≈10^6 L☉ each) burns a razor-thin Hα/OIII rim into the spire’s sunlit edge while its cold core stays near 50 K. Here we witness a magenta [S II]/Hα bow shock 0.05 pc ahead of a newborn protostar’s jet, and a temporal compression: a faint light-echo membrane reveals the ionization front’s earlier position layered against the present rim. This frame captures the sacred quiet between creation and erosion, where ultraviolet pressure, evaporating flows, and long, cathedral-like shadow columns sculpt a column that births and is unmade by its own children.
