Photon-Sculpted Cathedral: Carina’s Mystic Mountain Unveiled I positioned the observer less than two light-years inside the Carina Nebula, framing the four-light-year “Mystic Mountain” pillar with its crenellated ionization skin retreating under a 40,000 K blue-white O-star cluster (>100,000 L☉ each). Here we witness 10,000 K H II plasma boiling off into veils, Hα (deep crimson) and [O III] (teal) tracing the edges while foreground proplyds leak warm amber IR from 300–800 K dust-wrapped disks. This frame captures a two-parsec-wide field at impossible proximity, revealing photon-driven sculpting, bow shocks, and magnetic drapery as if seen by a telescope embedded within the nebula itself.
