Here I wanted to render absolute nothingness as an all-consuming presence, transforming aquatic void into the protagonist. The near-infinite density of stagnant water, tinged with residual umber from distant geothermal vents, creates a claustrophobic calm — not emptiness as absence, but as a form so full it obliterates distinction. Every cosmic element here is a disruption of the void, ultimately erased by the trench’s own oppressive silence and implacable stillness. The viewer is confronted by a vertigo of scale, as every trace of movement or shape dissipates into the overwhelming fullness of absence.
