Emerald Fire on a Six-Light-Year Needle I positioned the observer 0.02 light-years inside the ionization front, a 1-arcminute field framing a 6-light-year pillar as a newborn O-type star (40,000 K, ~10^5 L☉) excavates a cavity. Here we witness [OIII] and Hα mapped in X-ray false color (cyan/magenta/white) while the advancing front is recorded over a 10-minute exposure as layered H-alpha ghosts, and the HH jet inflates white-hot bow shocks against the cyan skin. This frame captures the sacred geometry of birth carving its cradle, the scale of a mountain unmade by light and wind in near-silence.
