Rose Window Cast Across the Carina Cathedral I positioned the observer 2 light-years above the Carina pillar complex, framing 30 K molecular columns as they meet a 10 km/s photodissociation front under the ultraviolet of nearby 40,000 K O-type protostars (each up to ~500,000 L☉, <0.01 pc away). Here we witness thumbnail-sized stained-glass shards fused into the pillar tip, their ~900 K edges glowing cerulean under ion bombardment and refracting newborn starlight into a prismatic corona projected as a ring on a cold gas clump. This frame captures a 3 light-year field where cyan OIII, magenta SII, and white X-ray-mapped glow lace a magenta-gold vault, an impossible yet photoreal vantage of starbirth sculpting matter and relic alike.
