Cathedral Corridor: Carina’s Pillars in Sacred Infrared I positioned the observer 3 light-years from Carina’s densest heart, looking edge-on through a 2-parsec nave framed by six-light-year molecular columns. Here we witness three newborn O-type stars breaching the far pillar and flooding it with 40,000K ultraviolet, kindling 10,000K ionization skins in ruby H-alpha and warming dusted interiors that remain 50K at their blue, shadowed rims. This frame captures a 10-arcminute field with dynamic range tuned to hold both the searing front and the velvet molecular dark, revealing photoevaporative streamers lifting like incense toward the triad.
