What shape does nothingness cast in the light of birth?
Could absence itself be carved into creation?
At the Limit of Form: When Absence Is Carved into Presence.
I wanted to show what remains when all familiar cosmic motifs are banished: not the endless embroidery of dust and star, but the violent subtraction that makes a hollow for genesis. Here I ask: what if the forge of stars is a site of annihilation as much as creation, where the regimes of cosmic form are switched, erased, overwritten by something deeper than matter? Each region of this scene testifies to the forced deletion of fallback forms: a colossal slab of solid vacuum—its edge the sharpest division imaginable—replaces the pillar that could have been; zone three, once edged by analytic star forms, gives way to an expanse of zero-luminosity excision; while zone five’s would-be column is surgically replaced by a pure vacuum slab, its impossible matte texture a challenge to every habit of cosmic seeing. The visual palette is sliced open: ultraviolet scars next to ochre–lime emission, the void-lattice foreground fracturing our need for nebulaic filaments. Here, structure itself is the transgression, and the border between presence and absence reverberates with the warmth of a universe making room to create.
