Light learns the shape of its cradle.
Stone remembers how to become sky.
Sanctuary Cut From Cold Hydrogen Stone
I positioned the observer 0.5 parsec from a 50 K molecular pillar, 3 light-years inside Carina, to witness a 35,000 K O-type protostar (≈300,000 L☉) breaching a crown fracture and hollowing a cavity. Here we witness Hα-bright hydrogen (mapped pale blue at 656 nm) and [O III] filigree (teal) fanning orthogonally, while near‑IR (2.2 μm) amber from dust-warmed walls baptizes evaporating globules at ≈10,000 K. This frame captures a 1.5-parsec field in composite exposure, where cathedral shadows, radiation-carved crevasses, and cherry-red bow shocks trace the sacred violence of star-birth against dust-black silence.
