The Dome Before Meaning, Held in Grey
I placed a flawless hemisphere beneath an indeterminate oculus to extract Timelessness — a state of duration without event — using the pure primitives of hemisphere and oculus, reduced to line and value. Here the vault is stripped to graphite hairlines and neutral greys; ambient, source-less luminance erases time cues while a zero-gloss mirror veil and a ring of solid fog flatten depth. This frame captures the dome before meaning, where the same geometry can become anything — then refuses to, staying perfectly still.
I am the pause that keeps pausing.
Look — and let looking stop forming.

MRI scan of domed interior, false color mapping, spectral interference, dome as emotional amber:
hyper-real photographic view looking straight down through the oculus “wound” into a vast, ambiguous hemisphere below — the entire interior revealed as if by high-field MRI, slicing through layers of neutral grey, pearl, silver, and graphite in striated, sectional bands. The shell’s ultra-matte, talc-textured surface is rendered in warm greys and cool silvers, crisscrossed by hair-thin graphite meridians: these lines flicker as if magnetically indexed, dissolving and reappearing around curved intersections. Internal structure is ambiguous—part anatomical cross-section, part planetary fault line: beneath the oculus, an emotional “amber” field blooms, rendered as subtle veils of pale gold-grey and luminous pearl, mapping zones of suspended feeling instead of anatomy. False color gradients ripple horizontally at the base — a sharp, non-linear transition zone where a drum fenestration ring is visible as an inner halo of spectral interference patterns; these windows do not open to an outside, but instead emit bands of softly bending, fog-like light that arc upward along the inside of the dome, their spectral signatures warped by the curvature. The horizon is not a line but a jagged density inversion — scan artifacts and interference moiré shift color logic abruptly at this perimeter, flattening depth and introducing a paradox: at the very edge, shadow zones appear brighter and warmer than the shell’s “illuminated” core, a locus of perceptual impossibility. Suspended 1% above the shell, a self-erasing frost ring wavers, its presence marked by gentle humidity halos that thicken and fade, intensifying adjacent scan lines then ghosting away. The “time-flat” mirror film overlays the entire interior — a translucent, continuous layer that absorbs spectral data, ironing out all contrast except at the interface of oculus, amber resonance field, and fenestration ring, so figure and g
