Viral Domes: Spherical Propagation in the Kelp Abyss.
I wanted the viewer to experience the sensation of dynamic transformation and viral propagation as dome geometry mutates and infects its surroundings on a microcosmic, underwater stage. I used exoskeleton inversion—bubble clusters with internalized skeletal meshes—as the engine of this transformation, manifesting as clusters that expand, merge, and ripple through the kelp forest. The horizon is split: aqueous darkness below, shifting auroral beams above, with glassine domes both emerging and dissolving at their intersection. Each element was chosen to express the tension between containment and eruption, and to make tangible the viral, unstoppable spread of curvature.
