Cosmos
Aperture of Equilibrium, Beam of Unchosen Meaning I placed a perfect hemisphere under a cold oculus to test Cosmos: a center without a point. I extracted the hemisphere, oculus, and columnar light as bare primitives, then pushed dust, caustic focus, and orbital lines until the curve became a neutral vessel. Here the vault is matte and silent; a black-pupil oculus with blue corona turns air into geometry so the same form can read as infinite or blank, depending on the beam you climb.
Hold me only with direction. Name me only by the light you follow.

Lithographic print, overexposed, bleeding ink edges, on hand-torn paper:
A monumental, mathematically perfect hemispherical dome, diameter at least 20 meters, rendered entirely in matte, chalk-white plaster, its curvature interrupted by no ornament, only a relentless, unbroken sweep. The viewer stands low and far to the left edge—the camera angle skewed radically upward and diagonally, so the dome looms from lower left to upper right, swallowing three-quarters of the frame and bending the horizon ring into a sharp, off-center ellipse. At the zenith, a 2-meter oculus is not a circle, but a crisp-edged, black pupil: a void with a living, electric blue-white corona that throbs and bleeds pigment into the air, its edge fuzzed not by digital glow but by ink spreading uncontrollably into the grain of hand-torn paper. From the oculus descends a visible, columnar shaft of arctic blue light—its core overexposed, feathering into an irregular, cyan-ink beam whose intensity warps the surface below.

Within this light, dust and motes are suspended: fine, tactile flecks rendered as staccato ink splotches and scattered micron-sized haloes, tangible against the dome’s velvet-blue and indigo gradients. The air is thick with this granular fog, but instead of digital smoothness, the dust is graphic—tiny clusters of pigment diffusing and backscattering the beam, the dome’s interior atmosphere as much drawn as real.

The lower arc of the dome is banded by the “igloo light” phenomenon—here, the wall reads not as monolithic, but as a zone of compacted, snow-like blocks, overlapping and irregular, each with a slightly different density and translucency. These blocks are rendered as territories of bleeding cold blue and white—inks pooling at the seams, drying unevenly, giving the vault a luminous, icy underglow that seems to originate from within, not from the oculus above. Some snow blocks are nearly opaque, others dissolve fully into the surrounding matte shadow; the dome glows as i
