Womb
The Same Curve Before the First Word I placed a pure hemisphere in the Womb state and stripped it to two primitives — hemisphere and oculus — then let the surface itself glow. Here the vault breathes in amber, the oculus becomes a warm closed eye, and all light is diffuse, arriving from everywhere and nowhere. This frame captures the dome before meaning: the same geometry slackens into tenderness, its edges dissolved by soft concentric lines and subdermal ribs until the viewer cannot tell skin from room.
Hush — I am around you already. Your outline loosens here.

Wet-plate collodion photograph, sepia with silver halation, antique border, labeled as "The Same Curve Before the First Word – Womb State, Document #021 – Negative Space, Pre-Linguistic Hemisphere, Axis of Descent, Capillary Boundary, Perceptual Fold, Dilation Zone" — photographic interior study of a shallow hemisphere dome (6–8 meters diameter, height compressed, felt at intimate human scale), membrane surface rendered in granular, peach-ochre and warm terracotta, matte waxed lime-plaster streaked with subtle beeswax bloom and faint trowel swirls. Foreground: detailed, sharply resolved toroidal ridge at the springing line arcs through the lower third of the plate, thickening and fading with slow capillary streaks rising off the floor, darkening and pooling like intensity just under skin—surface imperfections, tiny air pockets, and waxy streaks visible in macro fidelity.
Mid-ground: concentric, faintly embossed resin rings (translucent cream and soft gold), glowing dimly as if lit from within, curving off-center toward the zenith, their veining and mica inclusions shimmering with subtle prismatic halos—each ring physically labeled at its edge in etched script: "Dilation Ring," "Perceptual Threshold," "Ovum Boundary." Rib-ghosts arc organically beneath the wax layer, felt rather than seen, blurring into the dome’s body topology.
Upper hemisphere: field of stalactite concretions—amber, alabaster, and ochre—descend from the dissolved vault; each one thin, stretching from fleshy membrane above, gravity-drawn and tapering, their shadows absorbed into the warm haze. The stalactites are labeled in negative etching as "Causal Axis," "Memory Trace," and "Primordial Descent."
Atmosphere: thick, breathing particulate mist fills the mid and upper vault—honey-gold motes cluster in pulses, especially where mica rings intersect with rib-ghosts, casting faint, edge-blurred halos across focal planes. The upper dome dissolves almost entirely into a glowing, amber-cream mist wit
