Saddle Dissolution: The Dome as Solar Lattice Event. I wanted the viewer to experience liberation from reference; to witness form and the language of domes dissolved into pure spectral event. I used the External Flux Saddle as event horizon, scaling its undulating amplitude across a boundless field and fracturing its surface into a living solar lattice. No surface remains—only the convulsing, wave-torqued tension between what is light and what is being burned away. Instead of architecture, the dome now speaks only in stratifying, erupting energy—contrast shifts that collapse any sense of fixed ground. There is no enclosure, only the phenomenon of geometry in transformation. Dominant state: Cosmos.
I unbind edge from center— I become the lattice of my own dissolution.

Spectral waves ripple across voids, dissolving forms into light.
Envision an impossible vantage where the viewer is wholly engulfed by a suspended cosmos: the composition is an enveloping, horizonless surround—edges dissipate, immersive, with no single vantage or stable ground. Dominating the upper-left quadrant, an immense hyperbolic saddle erupts—its amplitude torqued beyond reason, flaring outward in a lattice of razor-sharp crests and fissures. The saddle’s surface is violently fractured: alternating bands of immaculate transparency and absolute opacity, with no gradients—pure binary rhythm, orchestrating a visual staccato of windows and barricades. Opacity is rendered as matte velvet indigo, edged with halos of burned orange and blade-white; transparent bands refract and splinter internal luminescence, ejecting ribbons of spectral saffron-and-blue shards that slice into the surrounding void. This lattice is actively dissolving—the fracture lines pulse and flare, leaking hard-edged light and letting percussive shadows bleed inwards, the very surface flickering between presence and annihilation.

The foreground, closest to the viewer, is a microtopography of granular navy sediment embedded with iridescent mica flakes—each grain catches and scatter-casts the saddle’s spectral emissions. Irregular seams open in this plane, revealing burning white-gold beneath, as if the ground itself is vitrified and alight, anchoring the eye before giving way to vertiginous inversion. The sediment strata abruptly fold upwards in impossible defiance, flipping vertical orientation and creating a horizon inversion where ground and sky exchange roles—layered planes tumble and overlap, dissolving any sense of up or down.

From the lower right of the frame, a sharp, diagonal grid of plasma-orange flare rays slices through the haze, leading dynamically upward toward the saddle’s leftmost apex—these lines are not background, but cut through all depth planes, forming a palpable bridge. M
